Dear Friends,
As you can read on the “news” page of this website the State Board of Elections, along with the State Administrator and Attorney General’s Office has dismissed the challenge to my residency. I am a certified candidate for the Baltimore County Council and WILL be on the ballot for the September 14th election.
My competitors may continue their negative campaigning because maybe it’s all they have to offer.
I HAVE A POSITIVE PLAN! Let’s talk about the issues…
As a family man with two daughters attending public schools, education is very important to my wife Mindy and me. Baltimore County has some of the greatest teachers in the country. I want to work with the Board of Education and TABCO to make sure that we retain our teachers and keep the best teachers in Baltimore County. I will work to improve the quality of our schools ensuring that all of our children get the education they deserve.
As a small businessman, I will work hard on the County Council to help make our economy better, promoting business and creating jobs. I will bring healthy businesses into our district. I will work hard to cut through the red tape that often stops new businesses from opening and employing members of this community.
As your County Councilman, I pledge to only serve for a maximum of 8 years. If 8 years is enough for our County Executive, it should be enough for the County Council. I am not a career politician and do not intend to be. I want to get in and fix some problems and get out! If every member of the County Council pledged to only serve a maximum of 8 years, there would be no excessive pension benefits for Council members.
I will not accept the County vehicle which is provided for members of the County Council. I believe that car should be given to a County Police Officer to use and take home. When I am elected, I will fight for more officers on foot or bike patrol in our business districts and neighborhoods because safe neighborhoods bring people into our communities to shop, work and live.
These are some the things I will focus on and work hard to see happen. These are the issues that I hear about as I knock on doors throughout this district and as I serve my customers at the counter of my small business. I have built my life and my business around service to others and now I want to serve you to make this District and all of Baltimore County a better place!
Sincerely,
Bill Paulshock
