Bill and his wife Mindy have three children. Billy graduated from Loyola Blakefield. Sammie attends Perry Hall High School and Casie attends Perry Hall Middle School. Bill and Mindy understand that the quality of education determines the quality of children's lives.

- Worked with the Belair Road Advisory Committee to improve the Belair Road corridor. The effort was so successful that the State Highway Administration now makes it standard operating procedure to form similar groups for all projects.
- Helped to halt putting barriers on Belair Road that would have split the community and cause hardship for residents and businesses in the corridor.
- Worked for over 30 years with the Perry Hall Rec Center, coaching sports and whatever else the center needed.
